Nurses Plus

As we make the transition to fall, remember that it is recommended that everyone six months of age and older get a flu vaccine annually. Earlier is better, as the flu season can begin in October and end as late as May.

Flu is highly contagious and also preventable.  Let’s not see a resurgence of flu this year.  For more information call Diane @ 708-709-0288 for sign up

Senior Fair 10-5-15 JPGThe Senior Information Fair will be held this coming MONDAY OCTOBER 5th from 9 AM until 12 Noon at the Chicago Heights Park District / 1400 Chicago Road, Chicago Heights.

The Senior Information Fair is free and open to the public.  It will offer a wealth of valuable information like how to get the most out of Medicare by knowing how it works (broken down into easy to understand terminology).  Numerous vendors will be on hand including Secretary of State Jesse White’s office mobile unit. Seniors will learn about programs that will keep them safe and possibly save their lives by making first responders aware of medical conditions and medications in case the patient is not able to speak for themselves in an emergency situation.  Representatives from Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office and Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frehrichs will also be on hand.

Representative DeLuca’s Senior Advisory Committee has planned this fair as they do annually.  They change it up a little every year to keep it fresh.  It is always a big hit!  Light refreshments will be served.
