2nd Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa
Join the Steger Fire Department for the 2nd Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa! Come ready for photos, pancakes, and more!
At this year’s 2nd Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa, one additional event will be added to the agenda: the 1936 Diamond T Fire Engine that will become the cornerstone of the Steger Fire Department Museum will be dedicated to former Fire Chief Elmer Joyce.
“It is an exciting event,” says Mayor Kenneth A. Peterson Jr. “Elmer was Chief for so many years and he did a great job of leading the department. It’s only fitting that honor his memory in the museum.”
The event takes place Sunday, November 29th at Fire Station 1 from 7 am to 1 pm. Everyone is invited to take photos with Santa, enjoy a few pancakes, and decorate cookies. There will also be a bake sale and ham raffle, as well as a food drive to benefit families in need during the Holiday season.
Annual Santa Food Drive
Join us for Steger’s Annual Santa Food Drive! Starting at 9 AM, Santa will be driven around town collecting non perishable food items to be used in the annual Christmas baskets for needy Steger neighbors. If you wish to participate, please leave donations on your curb next to the mailbox. The Fire Department will be using a Fire Engine for collection starting at the northwest side of town.
In 2014, Steger came together to create over 200 baskets! We appreciate the generosity of our community and look forward to another year of teamwork for a good cause.
