The famous Dixie Highway, which connects the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico, is 101 years old in 2016. Celebrate this historic highway at the 15^th Annual Drivin’ the Dixie , which passes through Steger, Crete, and other nearby towns.

Participants are invited to follow a tour guide or map to historic points of interest and new destinations. The event kicks off on Saturday, June 18 in Blue Island. Pre-registration is encouraged and costs $15, but the event will register cars the day of for $20. Registration includes a passport , which is good for food and raffles.

Steger will be providing lunch at the stop in town to passport holders between 11 AM and 1 PM.
