UAW/FORD Community Services Ramp Project
Thanks to the strong leadership of the UAW, National Ford Department’s Vice President and Director Jimmy Settles and Ford Motor Company V.P. Bill Dirkson, UAW Local 551 (Chicago Assembly Plant) and UAW Local 588 (Chicago Stamping Plant) have joined forces to launch the Community Services Ramp Project.
This organization works with many different non for profit organizations and municipalities in the Northwest Indiana and Chicago region. The UAW/FORD Community Services Ramp Project Team of (5) skilled carpenters provides all the labor, tools, and talent necessary to build a ramp for a low income qualified applicant in your community. The goal is to empower people with disabilities to maintain an independent lifestyle, become self-sufficient with greater mobility, and have access to their communities.
