Steger PD Executes Search Warrant on 1/6
On Friday January 6th 2017, at approximately 6:30 a.m. the Steger Police Department along with assistance from the South Suburban Emergency Response Team, (SWAT) and the Sauk Village Police Department K-9 Unit executed a Cook County Search Warrant upon a residence in the area of East 31st Street and Chicago Ave stemming from a narcotics and illegal weapons investigation. As a result investigating officers seized from the residence illegal narcotics, un-authorized prescription medications, drug packaging equipment, paraphernalia and ammunition. Evidence supported on-site drug sales were in fact occurring. One male adult subject was taken into custody and is facing criminal charges.
The Steger Police Department is committed to making the community a safer place to live and is working hard to accomplish this goal.
