Dear Steger Residents,

Another quarter of the year has gone by, and I am feeling excited about everything in the works. The Village is managing so many important changes and projects.

Firstly, I’d like to congratulate our 2015 election winners. On May 4th, we swore in Trustees Ryan Buxton, Tim Perchinski, and Michael Sarek, as well as a new face – William Joyce. Welcome to the team, and congratulations to all Village Board members. We look forward to continued teamwork, transparency, and progress.

Of all the projects going on in the Village, Steger Days of Music to be held at Veterans Memorial Park July 16th through the 19th is the one I am most excited about. With well known acts, such as the Ides of March, David Allan Coe, Travis Tritt, and Kashmir, in addition to a full schedule of fun events for families, including the American Warrior 5K Run, a car show, and dueling pianos, we will have a significant opportunity to show everyone what a great place Steger is to live and work. We hope to see all of our residents come out and enjoy the festivities. Visit www.stegerdaysofmusic.com to buy tickets, view the full schedule, or to learn more.

We recently announced updates on several more initiatives, including the various studies that kicked off this winter, school construction, Village & police force hiring, and more. I am grateful for all of the opportunity and change ahead.

As always, your feedback and ideas are welcome; I look forward to hearing from you.

Mayor Kenneth A. Peterson Jr.

Enjoyed reading the recent Steger Community Update, and your comments. I did notice that there was no mention of the status of the railroad “No Horn” project. Is this dead, or still underway???
    Have a good one !!
